Hi, I'm Alyson!

Take Me to Movement Genius
The beginning

At six years old, I started performing in television series, films and music videos. I had the sincere honor of working on 200+ projects across networks and genres as an actress, singer, dancer and host. In my late teens, I began producing my own content, which blossomed into Simplexity podcast and a growing online community of 4.5m+ folks.

Behind the scenes, I accumulated a variety of health conditions that affected every area of my life. My personal healing journey led me to my truest passion, studying the mind-body connection and creating tools alongside experts that help people heal and empower themselves.

Today
Founder

In 2020, my sister and I co-founded Movement Genius. We offer movement classes that improve mental health, and our radically inclusive platform is designed by and for all bodies and identities. Though mental health is often seen as a "neck-up" issue, our bodies play an essential role in how we make sense of the world and move through it daily. So, our classes use somatic principles to help you reconnect with yourself, reduce stress, and improve your well-being in a way that authentically works for you. Come as you are and try a class on us!

Advocate
Much of my passion is invested into advocating for improved mental health resources and long-term prevention strategies for youth and underrepresented communities. I'm currently working on concrete solutions that support artists and entertainers who face unique psychological, physical, professional, financial, and social challenges. My "Toddler-to-Trainwreck" video is an introduction to a much larger and urgent conversation.
Author
I believe everyone deserves to feel safe, comfortable and confident in their mind and body. Yet, it can be difficult to know where to start or how to make this a reality amidst the unique complexities of life. I wrote Mind Body Pride: The 7-Step Guide to Deeper Inner Connection to help you reconnect with yourself and start embodying the story you want to tell. I also created an accompanying series of mind-body classes so you can experience changes in real time!
